Regularly cleansing and recharging your stones is the only way to restore your crystal to its natural state. This act of care can also reinvigorate your own sense of purpose.
There are several methods to cleanse your crystals:
Water
Water is believed to have the ability to neutralize any negative energy within a stone. Ideally, natural running water - like a stream, waterfall, the ocean- should be used to cleanse crystals, but you can also rinse your stone at home. Make sure your crystal/jewel is secured when you holding it or placing it in flowing water. Pat it dry when you are done.
Also consider beforehand that some crystals are not suitable for this method. Some crystals have salt bases and loose material because it dissolves.
Moonbath
A weekly or monthly moonbath can recharge your crystals. The light of the moon is supercharging and safe for all crystals. Lay your crystals overnight at a spot in your house (or at a safe place outside, but keep in mind the night and early morning dew) where moonlight touches them for potent charging. Specially the light of a new or full moon is very powerful.
Sage
The way to cleanse crystals using sage is by a method called‘smudging’ which means using smoke from smoldering dried sage leaves in and around the energetic field of your crystal. Sage is a sacred plant, used since ancient times as a purifier. The smoke from burning the sage helps to drive out negative energy and restore balance to a particular space. Burning sage can be used to cleanse a person, place, object, or space of negative energies or influences - as well as clearing your crystals and jewelry.
Palo Santo
The same method as above can be done with Palo Santo wood, usually in the form of a stick. Palo Santo is a tree that grows in Peru, Ecuador, and other South American countries. It grows in dry tropical forests and produces very fragrant resin. In Spanish, Palo Santo means ‘holy wood.’ Only buy Palo Santo that has been ethically and sustainably sourced.
Selenite plate
There are certain crystals that have natural purifying properties, making them wonderful tools for clearing other stones. Selenite is one of those. Energetically it is 100% pure, white light. A Selenite charging plate is ideal to put your crystals on to clear and charge. Just like the charger of your phone. Contrary to any other crystal, Selenite doesn't need to be charged. It will amplify the energy of all crystals set upon it.
